Running race 18:35 [5] 3.1 mi (6:00 / mi) +80m 5:33 / mi

Stamford Park parkrun (Stalybridge) - 1st, 18.35

Tough hilly mainly XC course, very bumpy in places.
2 laps and then an extra loop at the end.
Missed turn into finish straight due to no signs/marshalls, lost maybe 10-15s.
Otherwise uneventful.
More ornamental park to south of road looked very pleasant.

Running warm up/down 8:10 [3] 1.0 mi (8:10 / mi)

Running 28:10 [3] 4.1 mi (6:52 / mi)

Repeat of last Tuesdays run to confirm segment didn't match correctly.
Will have a proper crack when I feel like it, which wasn't today, too warm.

Running 33:00 [3] 4.2 mi (7:51 / mi) +130m 7:10 / mi

Brighouse - canal - footpath - country lane up to Hipperholme for Ossett brewery pub and Brighouse Town v Ossett Town (1-2)
Nice 2+ mile stint down country lane with no traffic at all, views down the valley and enough ups to keep the pace relaxed.

Should have done more exploring this summer than I have really.

Heavy Labour 4:00:00 [3] 6.0 mi (40:00 / mi) +200m 36:15 / mi

Solo, moving wooden A frame stiles into position across the moors for the Dales weekend.
Back breaking stuff. Can't believe Jesus carried his own cross.
The sad thing is this would be a straightforward task if 4 or more people did it, the club shouldn't be relying on the 60+ age group to do it. Certainly not a solo task.
However...if the manpower isn't there to move the stiles, should we really be putting these events on these areas?

The thought strikes me it would be easier to dismantle and re-erect the dry stone walls at the relevant points.
