Running warm up/down 20:05 [3] 2.2 mi (9:08 / mi) +20m 8:53 / mi

2 PM

Running race 40:58 [5] 6.65 mi (6:10 / mi) +80m 5:56 / mi

Yorkshire XC Championships - 55th, 40:58

Pretty poor. Couldn't engage the switch that said 'hurt yourself', every time it hurt a little I backed off a touch. Not to say it wasn't tough, it was, but I could/should have done better, esp as not muddy at all so pace could have been decent. Course was a bit shorter than last year at same venue.

Running warm up/down 12:20 [3] 1.5 mi (8:13 / mi)

Running 30:07 [3] 4.1 mi (7:21 / mi) +30m 7:11 / mi

Just a gentle breeze. Having to work a bit harder than I would have liked.

Running 51:00 [3] 6.7 mi (7:37 / mi) +100m 7:16 / mi

Checking on next Weds event.

Was in two minds on whether to have one map or two, quite liked the idea of it being very achievable to get them all inside 45 mins as that would make it a good race and exciting to see, plus give everyone something to go at, but in the end decided it would be too short and undersell the evening a bit, so two maps it is.
Is it still achievable to get them all, will be interesting to see but I think it might be, just...

Running 16:27 [3] 1.5 mi (10:58 / mi) +45m 10:02 / mi

Collecting in the controls I went to. Collecting the ones I didn't go to wasn't an option.
6 PM

Running 47:27 [3] 5.7 mi (8:19 / mi) +190m 7:33 / mi

Leeds station to Adel Woods

Thought I was going to be late, just made it

Heavy bloody bag in tow
7 PM

Orienteering 42:40 [3] 3.2 mi (13:20 / mi) +80m 12:22 / mi

Adel Woods Night O - 14 controls

Terrible.
Slow and nowhere near accurate. Mainly found controls due to other people being nearby. On several occasions I thought the map did not align with what I was seeing in front of me, hindsight shows the map was right, so not sure what I was doing really.
I do struggle at night and I don't like this area anyway, wouldn't like to run anywhere near fast, very bad paths with thick and mud and pointy hidden rocks, would def. have done myself damage, fair play to those who do manage it though.

Running 1:06:30 [3] 9.8 mi (6:47 / mi) +50m 6:41 / mi

Track session - 12 x 70 on 60 off + 1 mi tempo

Not to bothered about Yorkshire XC so no easing off
Struggled with pace at first but 2nd half was solid, covering 390m approx which is as good as done this winter.
Would have been better if my ankle was 100% on the bends.
Started the mile but legs went to jelly and light headed which proved the effort on the 70s so called it a day.

Running 45:30 [4] 6.5 mi (7:00 / mi) +50m 6:50 / mi

Short Rothwell Clockwise
Let the big guns go, but Osama was late so Grupetto 2, i.e. me and him, ended up winding it up anyway. First mile 7:50 (with the Glasgow 2014 athletes!) last mile 5:45. Didn't realise it was that quick, which was nice.

Running 55:00 [3] 7.0 mi (7:51 / mi) +200m 7:13 / mi

Ran over to Shipley Glen via Hawksworth, Bradford GC and Baildon Village with Matt. Lovely crisp morning.
12 PM

Orienteering 1:15:30 [2] 6.0 mi (12:35 / mi) +200m 11:24 / mi

Shipley Glen O - Black, 17th

Big miss on #3 - must have run right past it and was then faffing around further west thinking I was in the vicinity.
Dave M then caught me and we were in a tete a tete for the most part of the race. I re-took him to #6 but he retook me to #9 which I overshot stupidly. Took turns through to #14 where I got away but got in a mess at #15 and didn't even see him pass, but then did see Dave A punch and got on the back of him. Took a good route to #16 and got in front but messed up #17, then was chasing both to #18. Dave A was then gone, and Dave M led me to #22 where I was that embrarrassed I hadn't clocked we were nearby the control when he stopped and didn't want to blantently follow I just stood still until he was out of sight. Very slow #24, #25, #26 as I just can't tell one rock from another, tried to nav using other features but the paths and hollybushes weren't distinct enough to help much

Enjoyable but not committed to running fast enough, again. Wrong mindset. Shouldn't be that far behind leaders.
2 PM

Running 13:00 [3] 1.5 mi (8:40 / mi) +60m 7:43 / mi

Jogged out to furthest point. Walked back collecting controls. Quite enjoyable as the weather was nice.
