Running 42:00 [3] 6.2 mi (6:46 / mi) +50m 6:37 / mi

Deptford to St Pancras via Blackfriars Bridge for Eurostar/TGV to Nice.
Felt pretty good for a morning run, moving nicely.
Could tell air quality was terrible, and that was with a low level of traffic, my friends who run commute in the mornings down there can't be doing themselves any favours.
Was nice going down the Thames.

Urban Orienteering 15:36 [4] 2.19 mi (7:07 / mi) +15m 6:59 / mi

Ran the Knavesmire urban course I didn't do a few weeks back.
Cracking little 10 control course.
Obviously didn't run flat out but at somewhere around 80% so a bit suprised to see I was 2 mins quicker than the winning time on the day.
Changed my mind en route to #1 and took steps up rather than head to SE corner of field, measuring afterwards shows this was correct.
Came across fence #2-3 marked crossable, didn't bother as was tall and so only crossable if gate was open? which it didn't appear to be?
Long leg 4-5 thought about for a while but went east on road but measuring suggests west and approach from south is actually shorter which I didn't expect. And cut through 7-8 but with steps this was probably slower.

Certainly livened up my lunch run, should do more of this!

Running warm up/down 9:56 [3] 1.3 mi (7:38 / mi) +15m 7:23 / mi

Running race 16:39 [5] 3.1 mi (5:22 / mi) +50m 5:07 / mi

Todmorden Park Series 5k, 5th - 16:39

Wanted to break 16:30 so a bit disappointed but just died on the last lap so getting there. 5 laps, so hard on the mind really. First k in 3:08 and I was 10th! Worked through but was outsprinted for 4th, but I really had nothing left.

Sale sizzler next week ideally, then I'll consider doing another one of these.

Was in pieces afterwards with hayfever and this persistant cough that won't go away, will have to see doctor if it hasn't gone when I get back from Nice.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] 1.3 mi (7:42 / mi)

Running warm up/down 18:00 [3] 2.3 mi (7:50 / mi) +75m 7:06 / mi

Leeds station to Meanwood Urban Farm

Urban Orienteering race 19:42 [4] 2.7 mi (7:18 / mi) +75m 6:43 / mi

Miles Hill urban O - 3rd, 19:42
***new area***
Not up for this really, legs very tired. Knew it would be hilly, so didn't set off hard. Schoolboy error at #2, took control on first road as mine, set off for 3, road bent right when it should have bent left, realised should have carried on to second road. Very silly. Otherwise spot on, except hesitant to #4 by not realising uncrossable fence stopped access from road, didn't go wrong way but had to stop and check.
Saw Gordon going 7-8 when I was going 9-10 which gave me a kick up the proverbial to go at bit faster. Not enough mind, beaten by him and Dave, who must have been running well.

First impression was what a good new area but tempered after a detailed look at the map which suggests it is a bit more straightforward than initially seemed. But good to have in the roster for a sprint

Running 10:20 [3] 1.4 mi (7:23 / mi) +40m 6:47 / mi

Running 27:56 [3] 4.0 mi (6:59 / mi) +10m 6:56 / mi

Ouse North. Couldn't be bothered, so put my foot down a bit to wake myself up.
6 PM

Running intervals 1:02:30 [4] 8.5 mi (7:21 / mi) +100m 7:06 / mi

Track, 6 x800 off 1 lap jog but I did 4 as racing Thurs

2.33, 2.30, 2.25, 2.24 - another instance of taking a while to get going and then finding the faster pace no worse than the previous rep. Nice to be back below 2.30. Still got this cough however.

Running 1:52:26 [3] 12.0 mi (9:22 / mi) +630m 8:03 / mi

Mr Birchall had the mad cap plan of cycling up Park Rash and then running over Buckden Pike to watch Le Tour up Kidstones, so we went to investigate, along with Oz and Rod
Cracking the flags on the bottom but cloudy and cool on top. Headed up the bridleway and then across to the cattle grid at top of Park Rash, nice easy pace but working a fair bit.
However missed the path to top of ridge so had to cut across thick tussocky stuff, not enjoyable. Once we hit the path though, all was fine, cracking views to east and west.
Steep drop down off top of Buckden Pike, and the across the Wharfe in Buckden itself and down the Dales Way back to Kettlewell. Delightful
Lovely cooling dip in the river afterwards.

The plan has been abandoned, by the way.
