8 AM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.4 mi (8:20 / mi) +10m 8:14 / mi

Warm up by Clumber park lake and picking up the last bit of the course
9 AM

Running race 16:56 [5] 3.1 mi (5:28 / mi) +30m 5:18 / mi

Clumber Park parkrun - 1st, 16:56 (CR)

Great way to bring up my 50th parkrun & 49th different venue.
Lovely course and only two laps which was good.
Very friendly bunch and fairly small field of about 50.
Was the front from the start so just a case of pushing myself as hard as possible.
Some slippery sections in the woods and a shortish sharp hill at the end of both laps to ensure you felt the pain. Tried to stay relaxed and lengthen stride where possible.
Happy to go sub 17 and feeling in good shape.

Running warm up/down 19:00 [3] 2.5 mi (7:36 / mi) +30m 7:20 / mi

Warm down inc 9 x 50m strides
5 PM

Running 43:00 [2] 5.5 mi (7:49 / mi) +110m 7:22 / mi

Mick dragged me out for a second run (on a Saturday!!) round Ardsley resr and various footpaths. Felt fine once I got going and loose, and actually had to ease off in places.

1 PM

Running 33:15 [3] 4.5 mi (7:23 / mi) +20m 7:17 / mi

Loop via university. Frankly CBA but that was mental rather than physical. Very quiet out today, or perhaps back to normal post school holidays/tourist season, hard to say.
7 PM

Running 48:27 [4] 7.5 mi (6:28 / mi) +125m 6:09 / mi

Slightly extended standard Burley&Otley loop.
Knew would start moving on the downhill A65 section and so it proved, cruising at 6:20.
The good thing about this route (in either direction) is it then flattens and then climbs back up, so to maintain the same pace you work harder and harder.

Just about managed to keep pace going to top of hill at station bridge, slipped a few seconds but a very good effort. Eased off last half mile.

Easy day tomorrow.

1 PM

Running 36:30 [3] 5.0 mi (7:18 / mi) +10m 7:15 / mi

Rawcliffe Meadows loop again. Drizzle turning to something heavier. Legs did the opposite, heavy to OK.
7 PM

Running 1:08:33 [3] 9.4 mi (7:18 / mi) +220m 6:48 / mi

Good group run from Headingley down Meanwood trail to Primrose, up other side, up Stonegate road round schools and into Meanwood proper. Legs felt average, was working fairly hard in places but never overly troubled. Picked up pace down into town without problem.

1 PM

Running 28:40 [3] 4.0 mi (7:10 / mi) +15m 7:05 / mi

Down Bishopthorpe Road over Millenium Bridge and down Fulford Road.
Could be cold. A bit windy too.
Cruised round, must be entering some decent fitness to run at this pace without any effort.
7 PM

Running 1:30:00 [3] 12.55 mi (7:10 / mi) +250m 6:45 / mi

Second fartlek session of the season, decent group again
3 x 20 on.off, 3 x 40 on/off, 3x60 on/off, 2 x 90 on/off, 3 x60, 3x40 3x20
Felt a lot better and stronger this week, the 90s were probably my best efforts in fact.
Encouraging.
Usual to/from station scenario.
No light at end though

11 AM

Running 27:30 [4] 4.3 mi (6:24 / mi) +40m 6:13 / mi

Standard Hob Moor loop, but decided to hit it fairly hard and get it done, which worked
7 PM

Running 46:41 [3] 6.75 mi (6:55 / mi) +175m 6:24 / mi

Dalesway, Burley station, up to Cat farm, round bridepath back to Burley, back into Menston on private road.
Once the speed got going I felt fairly good and decided to keep it below 7's.
Flew down into Burley, very enjoyable.
Getting dark though and was almost cold when I went to the shop just now.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.6 mi (7:42 / mi) +50m 7:16 / mi

Hornbeam Park to Harlow Carr. Longer than expected, bonus.
12 PM

Orienteering 52:41 [4] 5.4 mi (9:45 / mi) +110m 9:11 / mi

Harlow Woods and Harlow Carr - Blue course, 4th, 52:41

For me, a decent run on an off road course, albeit the woods weren't that tough, the craggy area would have been if it had more controls.
A little scrappy approaching 3 and 4, and 6 was prob biggest mistake as I mistook middle path for northerly but at least realised fairly quickly.

Then overtook a dalek on path to 7, totally bizarre!
Stumbled across 10 and 11 more than anything then got to stretch my legs to 12 but had trouble finding boulder next to path, it was a bit submerged.
13, 14, 15 could have been quicker but didn't really go far wrong, same for 16 should have clocked the green next to it.

Sprint section was good fun, though never really got up to full speed for fear or making mistake. Had to nigh on walk 25-26-27 due to visitors, only real mistake was a bad route 28-29 went to far south.

Good event rewarded with a great turnout good to see.
Never been to the gardens before, well worth a visit
1 PM

Running warm up/down 8:20 [3] 1.0 mi (8:20 / mi) +5m 8:12 / mi

Warm down to the northerly edge of the gardens where the course didn't go. Decided the future Mrs Foster would get taken for a walk round here.
