running long 55:00 [2]

Started out as a fabulous run!! i had music, gorgeous weather, just the right temperature, and i felt strong and fast. then the battery died so no more music; then it started getting dark and real sketchy on the parkway. that's when i wanted to just get home real fast! glad i got out though.

running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

to and from the hill

running hills 25:00 [5]

I decided to do something a little different this time around. started out doing the first hill in 1min, then the next one in 58sec, etc. all the way down to 40sec. holy macaroni!!! it was really hard to get the right pace and i usually ended up going really slow at the top cause i was too fast, but the last few, was just all-out the whole way. Gave myself 1min rest inbetween the last 3 but all the other ones I did continous running. The last one was the most exciting, cause i just sprinted up the whole hill and didn't look at the time until the top, and i was 38sec!!!!! hooray!!!! felt good after that and really glad that i made it out.

running intervals 21:00 [3]

It was sooooooo hard to get out of bed this morning to go run intervals... but i did it. wasn't any fun at all, and i didn't feel much better afterwards. at least it's over now and i'm definitely real psyched for hills tomorrow.

weights 35:00 [3]

Some more supersets. got through a lot more today and did more legs than yesterday.

running race 18:30 [5] 4.8 km (3:51 / km)

first x-country race of the season and it was so spectacular to be running again! the girl who says she would run me over to win was there and right before we started she said "hey emily, i've got first so you can fight it out with the rest of the girls." well then... my plan was to stay with her until 3/4 where i would try to pick it up and see how it went from there. so we started out and my starts always suck cause i don't like sprinting at the beginning, so i was near the back of the pack but by 400m i had moved up to the lead pack. i was running with the lead girl which was alright, but i was feeling really good and so i dipset and picked up the pace a little bit. lead for the rest of the course by about 200m which wasn't so great cause then i had no one to push me. felt strong the whole way and felt good at the end. there was a midget boy who was finishing at the same time as me, and i didn't want to run past him cause that would just be so demoralizing, so i slowed down and ran the last 50m with him and cheered him on. :) made me feel real warm and fuzzy.

new pr for sure even though it wasn't quite 5km and i think this year should be exciting. scary intimidating girl got a cramp and was about 2min behind me, so we'll see how the other races go and how i'll do when me arch nemisis comes to a meet.

weights 35:00 [3]

did some supersets where did one exercise for 12 reps and then did something completely opposite for another set without any rest. weirdest one we've done so far, wrist curls and reverse wrist curls.

running intervals 50:00 [3]

Ran the stair loop which was actually a lot of fun. Most of it is downhill and then there's just the one staircase with all the climb. And stairs are so much fun!! they're just so rhythmic and they're the right size so that i can skip a stair quite comfortably. mr. long legs was injured, so he was running behind me which made me push myself a lot more than if he was running way up with marathon runner.

orienteering race 1:19:33 [3] 8.7 km (9:09 / km)

not the hottest race i've ever had. felt sloppy out in the woods and i wasn't choosing attackpoints and i wasn't into the map very much and i didn't have much of a plan. apart from that though, i guess it was alright and i did finish and i felt fast most of the way.
