Saturday Nov 29, 2014 #

Trail Running 24:17 [3] 4.84 km (5:01 / km)
shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 300 2013

Out to Bucksburn. Calf started feeling sore as I got to Howes rd. Got back to Beech Boul. and then decided to walk the remainder and not do too much damage. Very tight in my foot and ankle.
A more sensible option would have been laps of kingswells. I should know better!

Stretch/strength (Rollinf) 30:00 [3]

Rolling and stretching. Work on R foot calf and hip flexors

Was doing ok until about 300m from the office when my R calf went. Stopped immediately and took it easy the remainder of the way.
Should know better!

Stretch/strength (Rolling) 15:00 [3]

Sore R calf the whole way along the outer edge. Easing off through the day but I think that I will take another rest day tomorrow. Tyrebagger always seems to break me!

Trail Running 51:36 [3] 10.3 km (5:01 / km)
shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 330

Bucksburn trails. Raining heavily at the start but eased off during the run. Incredibly wet underfoot. Would have like to have gone for a bit longer but R calf was seizing up.

Stretch/strength 30:00 [3]

Working on my R calf and hip flexors

shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 330

Tyrebagger children in need race.
2nd to Kyle Grieg
Kyle cruised past me after 2km and then pulled out a big lead (probably still at jogging pace for him). No one pushing me from behind and no one to chase in front meant that I didn't push myself particularly hard.
About 30s slower than last year when I was racing with Chris T the whole time. Found the hilly section on the backside tough again this year. Course not as wet as what I was expecting after all the rain that we have had. Nice route with some good fast sections.

Trail Running warm up/down 5:48 [3] 1.17 km (4:57 / km)

Trail Running 38:19 [3] 7.7 km (4:59 / km)
weight:66kg shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 330

Bucksburn trails, up to Shedocksely and then across the grassy muddy trails, down beech boulevard and then back across the Bucksburn trails again.
Not too bad a route for running with a headtorch on. Some fog developing in places made for whiteout conditions!
Everything feeling ok tonight

Road running race 9:43 [5] 3.0 km (3:14 / km)
shoes: Adidas adizero blue

Proms 3km
2nd in a sprint finish. Poor prep meant that I had no warm up. Decent run. Felt good to the turn Jenny Bannerman kicked at that point and I decided to increase the speed as well. Moved into the lead with about 1km to go but couldn't hold the metro guy off in a sprint finish. Losing out in too many sprint finishes for my liking recently!
New PB

Road running warm up/down 8:00 [3] 1.5 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Adidas adizero blue

Not enough time before and too tired/wet afterwards

Stretch/strength (Strength) 15:00 [3]

4 sets of:
4xsquats 90kg
10x hamstring curls individual legs
10x press ups
10x calf raises each leg

Tried for a 5 set but my groin had completely seized up. Need a stretch tonight.

Balgownie XC - 4th
Good race again. Ran most of the race in isolation. Felt tired in the morning with all of the travel and was up at 4:30 this morning to drop friends to the airport so happy that the performance was ok. 3M option would probably have been more to my liking.
