Orienteering race (Central Coast Winter) 1:28:35 intensity: (10 @1) + (15:07 @2) + (47:06 @3) + (26:12 @4) **** 6.39 km (13:52 / km) +400m 10:34 / km

"Rumbalara Reserve", Gosford (Hard: 3.9km, +225m, 12c). MP/DNF at #12. 47:05 behind Martin Dent. 13°C. TE 3.0.
First O event since the COVID shutdown. Did an event here in 2007 but don't remember too much. Course made good use of the trails off the main road on the ridge with some bush options. Lots of stairs.
#1 - A bit rusty; didn't go far enough around gully (lost 3:30). #2 - Bush option to track; passed by Martin Dent leading into CP. #3 - Track up. #4 - Flat track; ran a bit past (-30"). #5 - Track down. #6 - Track back up and over; AP at statue. #7 - Long stairs down then more descent. Boulder description "3/2" very misleading; no profile from above; height from below would not be more than 1m (-6:15). #8 - Climb back to road then another track down to top of WC. #9 - Tracks with another climb. #10 - Track. #11 - Track then climb to boulder. #12 - Track with metal stairs. I knew I'd gone too far but there were too many boulders to consider. Terrain too steep to be bothered (-3'). Est time lost: 10:15.
Intesting to see Martin Dent's routes on Strava. He avoided lots of stairs (both up and down) and doubling back by keeping to the bush, especially #6/7/8/9.

Parramatta-Toongabbie loop (ACW). Another day at Parramatta Square. Skipped lunch so I could go for a ride before heading home. Definitely feel more stronger riding on the hills as well as on foot since training on terrain nearer to home. 21°C. TE 2.8.

Parramatta Park-Cumberland Hospital loop. Rare drive into work today for EOFY tasks that needed a faster and more reliable Internet connection. First run from the new base at Parramatta Square. Fresh towels are provided free and there's several drying cabinets for wet gear. Park run felt easier than I remembered. The hillier home trails seem to have improved my stamina. Garmin says I did an 11" season's best for 5km. 20°C. TE 2.7.
