Orienteering 1:16:00 [4] *** 10.3 km (7:23 / km) +110m 7:00 / km
29c shoes: 2011 VJ Supra

OK Nuts Trophy, Esher Commons

Better run today, pushing a bit harder physically - it became hard work after about control 16. A few 30"-1' misses (#2, 16, 24), for most of these I just needed to be a bit more careful. Some obvious errors in the map - recent forestry work may explain one or two, some others affected route-choice viability.

No issue with ITBs during run, bit achy/tight when on marshalling duty, but generally better than expected.

Orienteering 45:00 [0]

Control collection - checked a couple of bits that didn't make sense last night/today and worked out why...

Night Orienteering 1:19:00 [2] 7.6 km (10:24 / km) +110m 9:42 / km
shoes: 2011 VJ Supra

Southern Night Champs

Generally appalling after control 3 - need to remember to completely adjust technique when I run at night. #8 was the worst mistake - would be interested to see the area in the day. Became frustrated in more than one place, contemplated missing out controls on a couple of occasions rather than bashing around aimlessly looking for them.

May have had a bit too much of a rant about the map after my run, comparing it now to the old one it's an improvement, but don't think it was accurate enough around some of the control sites to be fair in the dark.

Running 29:00 [2]
shoes: Walsh 2011

Short easy run from hotel. Not sure what state the ITB is in, there was the feeling things weren't quite right, but no real pain.

May only run one of the races this weekend, will see how things go.
