My OCD was challenged...but I will live to ride another day. I was tired. Didn't sleep much on the backpacking trip.

And that's a wrap! FYI had a map the whole time and printed off 1:24k but they were a little worse for wear.

After a good overnight. We packed up and headed out. It was so gracious of the group to let us stay and I was glad that everyone seemed to be in good spirits to move on! We headed to Seven Mile Creek, but it was quite a rainy day! We got rained on while hiking and again after we got settled. Sigh...that left my step son to with only PJ's to hike in the last day...

Treating water from the creek.

The Seven Mile Creek flowed into Lake Superior:

This was going to be the quite long day. We did try to keep moving, but did get a few pictures on the way. The short version of the story is that a couple in our group got quite exhausted to the point of giving me great concern, so a lovely group of packers from a Y camp graciously let us crash on their site. In fairness, the guide information said our hike from one site to another would be 15 miles, but it was really more like 18-19, so it was definitely a no go!

PICTURED ROCKS NATIONAL LAKESHORE

And we were off! Planned for a shorter day, which was great because the shuttle service ran a bit late and I was nervous how it would go with such a heavy pack! I was fine with it in general, only if it didn't tip me over! That bad boy was 60ish pounds I think.

We hiked through some pretty, albeit thick woods. And there was so much mud. But it was so pretty and we had some peeks of falls and Lake Superior.

Then, we had lunch!

Trekking 50:01 intensity: (48:27 @1) + (1:23 @2) + (11 @3) 1.53 mi (32:42 / mi) +35m 30:32 / mi
ahr:112 max:132

Found a small clearing for lunch, and it was quickly consumed and we were on our way to our campsite. Short day! However, we did not pack a lot of water so after settling to our site we collected water at a nearby creek. Not being sure what we would find, I had my Sawyer with me.

Note

Heading to the U.P. to take the family backpacking along Pictured Rocks. I hear it's quite stunning!
