Running 31:00 [3] 3.1 mi (10:00 / mi)

Purple Run Ann Arbor to benefit the organization I run, SAFEHouse Center! AliC and Michellegreen and others came to volunteer. I ran with an officer in full class A gear...we called ourselves Team All Awesom All the Time. He was awesome! And poor guy was spent at the end. He did great!

Little trot....using the fitbit data because I left my garmin on my desk. Interesting that it's high at first, then levels off.

Intended on the slow side...just smidges of pain here and there.

Planned a slightly longer run, but a huge dog came out of nowhere and attacked my dog...it was just awful! Fortunately one of my neighbors came to help and then the owner came and said "he's usually very friendly." !!!!! Walked home.

Easy trot around the Arb. Noticed that the HR was sorta high...adjusted the strap and it went to what I expected 120/30s. Stopped because of the rain, had a work presentation afterward. Walked back to the car to cool down. Meant to track that but forgot to turn it on. :)

Woke up with no pain, thought a hike was in order.

During the hike, had a hot spot in the injured area, no better, no worse during the hike.

Final verdict on fitbit....great for general bumping around, but for anything above a trot, not accurate on HR--I probably never broke 115 on this hike. It's been fun to experiment, but back to the Garmin.

Orienteering 50:00 [1]

Setting points, and confirming a flag placement.

Great day for a meet! Shout out to Tizoc Cruz-Gonzalez as a brand new meet director with me, cedarcreek for helping with control codes (saved us) and to Dr. Jess, runninghils, Madman, AliC and Angela for helping! There were 2 boy scout troops, a trail life group and lots of new people. We had about 65 starts, which I thought was awesome considering 1) there was a major freeway accident that prevented many from getting to the meet and 2) it was slightly chilly, we had snow the day before!

What I love about this park is the varied terrain, and I sought to feature some of my favorite areas. Such as the cliff/rock outcropping, an isthmus, gorgeus long views, sandy hills, dense vegetation and very fussy glacial contours and form lines. God Belss Tizoc, moving some of the controls into thickness. Well, he got feedback. :)

We predicted the winners at about 90 min. That's what Voit did, and Hail to the Chimp was right behind. And Cooper Green did super, and although it's home turf for him, he shared that we took him places that he had not experienced. And, of course...the other non-mortals (Mr. Dubs, guskov, ccmarie) were awesome. It was long, 9.1k. And we did a drop down option to Green, and Green was almost the same as Red, except minus 4 controls.

I loved the trail and scout groups. They did white, then came back to try yellow and then a few borrowed the orange map just to bump around. Love seeing their enthusiasm.

Wondering if I should volunteer to do Highland next, and see what others would do with ILRA....and I could race it! :)
