Hike at the Nature Center, saw fish, turtles, sand hill cranes, but the highlight was a mink!

Went out with Cris Cataldo for a low key paddle and trek. River was noticeably lower than last weekend, maybe a foot? Deadfall in many places...I was in the stern. Perfect day!

Saw a heron, egret, and small turtles.

So sore from yard work and deck painting. Round 2 on Saturday. We are using a Behr textured DeckOver and it is heavy and dries fast. Glad that project will be over this weekend.

Forgot HR strap. Joined Michelle on the end of her long run...intended to be very slow Z2 out to Mt Brighton...hill repeats there and then run back. Ankle was great until the hill repeats and felt a dull ache, so I slowed way down. Gorgeous night. Had the poles on Mt. Brighton.

With Tizoc. Broke the news about no race, and he agreed to paddle anyway. The current was strong, went upstream and attacked this one difficult area 3 times but couldn't keep out of the strong part of the current long enough to push through. Bailed when storms threatened.

Did what I could do. Alot on the left leg, which I guess isn't bad because it is noticeably weaker than my right.

The bruising is covering over my foot, that's new. The swelling has gone way, way down.

Paddling activity (Canoeing) 1:30:00 [3]

Went out with my husband in my new (to me!) canoe. I love it. We put in at McCabe...lovely paddle upstream past Placeway. I think he worried a bit about sterning (he said something like "I drive like Steve McQueen" whoever that is) but I just wanted to be outside.

Saw several hard and soft shell turtles sunning themselves. And, pretty sure in the distance saw a turkey vulture nest.
