OK, need to comment....Attended a clinic at Huron Meadows. Learned alot from Amy (she met Hilary last weekend) and I learned more about the techniques related to classic Xcountry skiing. The parts that are making the most difference are the "digging" into the snow during the kick, the squattish posture and the extreme extend of the arm backwards in the stride. I felt like a million bucks when Amy said that I was a natural (although I think she was just saying that!). She was also talking about recreational skiing goals. And I said "But those aren't my goals." She looked at me confused. I said "I want to race." She said "Well, OK then!" Hahaha. I look forward to maybe doing the Frosty Freestyle next year. On my way home Ali Crocker messaged me she was on her way to Huron Meadows...which is a bummer I had other stuff to do and couldn't connect. She offered to teach me skiing also. Going to Maybury tomorrow afternoon with the streamered USGS map that Igor shared.
