Orienteering 3:00:00 [3]

Loop 1 at the big island, most of the control pick, and attempted the contour-only but was pretty mentally and physically exhausted. I was tired from the track workout, and not very speedy for much of Saturday.

Fun Park-O! Legs weren't really feeling it today, but navigation was fine at least.

Helped Barb run a little field trip where we introduced a bunch of 6th graders to orienteering. They were nice kids, and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I got to spend the entire day outside, and got some good O practice. Plus, we managed to raise some money for the team! :)

Orienteering (Control Setting/Retrieval) 2:00:00 [0]

Helped Barb set some controls, and picked them up at the end. It was walking so it was low intensity, but I still got some map reading practice. Especially since I had to be really sure I got the control in the right place so I read the map in a bit more detail than usual.

Running 21:00 [5]

There was a short little white course, on which I shadowed three groups of boys. They were actually pretty speedy, and by the time they figured out how to follow trails to controls they were flat out sprinting. I actually got a good workout keeping up. It was in intervals of about 7min (yes, I should have timed it better with my watch...) where I would have about a minute of rest in between.

Orienteering 45:00 [1]

More shadowing, on a longer and more complex group exercise (essentially an Orange course). I kept in contact with the map the whole time, but let the kids do all the navigating and mostly just asked them questions along the way to get them thinking about the right things. I only logged the first half since the boys got tired and we walked most of the rest.

Moving out today. I spent all day packing and moving my stuff into storage, it was actually exhausting. I'm excited to move in to the O-house!
