Planned for a 70mi ride around DC, the consolation ride to our previously planned long trail ride that got rained out. Started at Hains Point and immediately headed to some less than desirable neighborhoods. Finally made it onto the Anacostia River Trail as the sun came out. Crossed a bridge on a small rise that took a blind left turn immediately after. Landed on the asphalt before I knew what happened. Right away, my left elbow was dripping all over the ground. Hit it hard enough that I split it open to the bone, about 1.5" long. Also hit my knee and hip but only cosmetic damage to the bike. Ride over. Luckily went down in a nice neighborhood and got some supplies to clean it. Dee is a godsend and came and picked me up in MD since dusty couldn't leave the clinic. Dusty put 4 stitches in it. Was pretty much torture haha. Whole arm swollen and tender.

Mt Weather's Backside loop. Have Garmin, will travel. Pretty sore from lifting yesterday, but worked the kinks out eventually. Was not expecting the climb near the top of Mt Weather. 20% grade with sloppy gravel. Good times! Next time, I'll take the HT. Got beat up on the gravel bike, with a lot of the roads not being well maintained, with plenty of washboards. Perfect day.
