Hike from Mweni with Alistair, Tom and Iric. Mweni to 5 Star cave. Loads of hikers on this section luckily most of them taking tents so we had option on the caves we wanted. Stijn recommendation of 5 star upper was great. Weather wasn’t good but we were nice and dry.

Day 1 - easy day up mweni valley, good hiking conditions, Rivers were flowing strong.

Day 2 - 5 star to ledges, plan was up via Manxome but the morning was very cloudy and we couldn’t see very well so decided just to go up mweni pass as it was really wet and weren’t sure of the conditions. Stayed in ledges, miserable night with very damp conditions. Slept in my bivvy which was ok. Other in a 3 man tent. No views :(

Day 3 - longer day of hiking down the usual rockeries pass, no views but great hiking conditions, river was spectacular.

Enjoyable hike even thought the weather was wet.
