I grievously "misunderstimated" (to quote a certain ex-president) the effort it would take to walk a Green course at the Flying Pig with a gimpy rib (compared to, say, Sid Richardson). Suffice it to say, it was a beating. Starting at 2 in the afternoon, temps in the 80s, was not ideal. I ended up pretty dehydrated. Combine with lots of climb, some steep downhills, struggling with trying not to fall -- it took a real mental toll as well as physical. I almost bagged it after control 11 of 18, but decided to slog onward. I wasn't running for time, obviously. but I didn't realize how close the the 2-hour time limit I was getting; fortunately, Vlad mentioned as I was in the chute that I had about 15 seconds to go, and I sprinted to the end. Made it in 1:59:49. Small victories.
