Got to the event very late. Thank you for letting me start after 1 PM. Felt good on this course - feel like I am making progress. I noticed a trend - I always struggle on the first leg. I need to pause at the start for just a couple of seconds a read the map before charging off. First couple of legs ok. Totally messed up on #4. I didn't go far enough, and end up backtracking along the creek before I realized the mistake. The rest of the course #5-#21 went really well until I made the u;ltimate beginers mistake - I skipped the last control #22. I ran straight for #21 to the finish. I strolled up to the epunch car, waited in line & checked in - Opps!!!. I ran back out picked up #22, hit the finish and came back. Lost 10 mins. Still, ovevall a good event for me. Felt like I was reading the map well, and kept up a consistent pace throughout.
