Orienteering race 30:46 [4] 5.0 km (6:09 / km)
(injured) (sick) shoes: VJ Falcon

British Relays - Summer House Knott - 4.02Km

Running second leg in the SYO second M50 team with Nick L and Paul T (!) Feeling quite a bit better today, so able to put effort in. Could tell I wasn't 100%, particularly on the climbs, but wasn't too far off. Mostly clean run, but irritatingly lost a minute at 7. Was in the right place, but just didn't see the control (it was just behind a fallen tree), and since the feature was not distinctive, wandered off down the hill and then had to come back up. Only other minor time losses were caused by random vegetation and my current inability to climb over obstacles! Groin sore before starting but not too much of a hindrance during the race.

Very enjoyable day. Good terrain, courses and great weather. Good to get both SYO teams in the top 3, though a shame that Phil just managed to get Paul at the end.

Orienteering 42:01 [2] 6.0 km (7:00 / km)
(injured) (sick) shoes: VJ Falcon

Wasn't going to run at all today and just go to the relay tomorrow, but made a very last minute decision to go as I didn't feel so bad this morning, and it would have been a shame to miss a chance to run at High Dam.

Following traffic issues, made it to the start with 30 seconds to spare having had to run (slowly).

Decided on the way to the first control that I just wasn't feeling good enough to race what looked like a pretty tough course so just jogged 1-8-7-9-rest of course (total 4.94Km straight line), walking up pretty much every slope. Very enjoyable - beautiful terrain and fun watching lots of people wandering around looking confused. Felt OK, but could tell that I wasn't in a state to put effort in. Leg not as painful as feared, but I was treating it pretty gently.

Note
(sick)

Felt gradually worse yesterday evening, and feeling pretty awful all day to day. Not feeling warm however many layers I wear.

Running 31:56 [3] 6.0 km (5:19 / km)
(injured) shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

Simple Clough loop from the office. Remarkably dry for Sheffield at this time of year.

Plenty of pain. Hamstring not as sore as yesterday, made up for by extra pain in the groin.

Also feel as though I might be getting a cold. Not looking good for this weekend.

Running 49:03 [3] 9.0 km (5:27 / km)
(injured) shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

A loop of Ecclesall Woods plus parts of Limb Valley.

Hamstring sore before starting and all the time while running. Could feel that left glute was barely working at all and it would have been a real struggle to do any terrain running. Don't think anything got worse, but not in a fit state to do much at the moment.

Note
(injured)

Saw Kim for a diagnosis.
Now understand why everything hurts, particularly when running hard and / or running on terrain.

Note

Golf wirh Charlie at Meltham. 99 (30 points). First round this year. Fairly rusty, but not as bad as feared and a good even competition.

Back not too bad, though hip got quite sore, mainly from carrying the clubs.
