NZ Champs Sprint - Ohakea

Back was a lot better yesterday, so decided to risk running to see how it would hold up. Not well! Felt sore in the warm up. Then felt fine for the first few minutes running, but was gradually getting worse. Decided to give up just after the spectator control - didn't fancy trying to run hard in the native bush. Plus I was too distracted by it and made several small mistakes through not concentrating.

Very sore as soon as I stopped, and by the time we were going back to the car, could hardly move.

Continued to be very sore all evening.

Gradually getting better during the day, but still pretty sore. Not looking good.

Rogaine 2:48:45 [3] 25.0 km (6:45 / km)
shoes: Vasque

3hr rogaine around Johnsonville & Newlands.

With Nationals coming up, kept the pace gentle, and was never intending to be out for the full 3 hours.

Unfortunately, after about 1:40, started to get a bit of pain in my right sacrilliac joint and hip. Got gradually worse and slowed down over the last 45 minutes. Quite sore at the end. Then, a few minutes after stopping, it was pretty much agony whenever I was walking, and has continued to be very sore in the 2.5 hours since finishing.

First time I've run with a rucksack for a while and felt a bit asymmetrical. Also wearing the wrong shoes - there was very little off road. Either of these may have been contributing factors. Time for Ibuprofen and sleep, but it's not looking good for this weekend.

Cycling 25:00 [3]

Down to the school and back to watch the kids cross country race. Generally fairly tired after yesterday.

Running 2:15 [5] 0.7 km (3:13 / km)

Got dragged into doing the Parents v Teachers race while at the school. First time I've run a race in bike shorts! Not sure of the distance or time, but it was just one lap and not even the full lap. Haven't done anything that painful in a while - one of the teachers was reasonably quick so it was a serious race most of the way.
