XC Ski race (Skate- white pine stamped) 1:20:05 [3] 22.0 km (3:38 / km)

Very fast conditions today. Very tough competition and I have something of a cold so expectations were low. I passed Catarina a few K into the race and thought I had lost her. Worked on picking off various people over the rest of the course. With 5k to go, I looked back and there was Catarina. I was not going to let her by so I dug in and pushed it harder. I held her off this time! Woo! It was my turn this time to not let her pass me. Overall I was happy with it. The finish is up a hill, so the pics are ALWAYS ugly. Makes you wonder… does my form always look that bad or just going up a hill at the end of a race while scrambling to battle it out?

Oh, and we got new ski suits. I was super excited to wear it for this race, and I give it an A! I was worried it was too tight (I ordered the small without trying it on) but it was ok and the elastic on the top kept it in place for the most part.

XC Ski warm up/down (Cool down after wp) 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)

It was slow going because I was skiing against the crowd of finishing racers, so I had to keep stopping to yield the narrow trail to them. The way back was a lot faster. Hands got really cold so I called it good after 30 min.

1 min squat hold, then dislocates, mountain climbers, push ups

Mobility: roll back, lacrosse ball on shoulders

Strength/skill: EMOTM 10
3 toes to bar (as strict as possible)
3 heavy KB swings (russian) 55 lb

Workout: 12 min AMRAP
15 Thrusters (65 lb)
15 Pull ups (red band)
Completed 4 rounds + 7 thrusters

After - did shoulder PT exercises

Note

This is a note mostly for Phil: I took the Big Bang Theory quiz, and I am Amy. One of the things it said is "Also, you really, really love tiaras." This is actually so true - On multiple occasions, I have requested tiaras instead of medals for ski races. HELLOOOO!! A tiara is a MUCH cooler prize than a stupid medal. Still hasn't happened, though.
