I was feeling some serious buyer's remorse about the new bike. I mean, it's nice, but I really love my SS and don't intend to stop riding it. So do I really need a nice FS geared bike? The first mile or so from Berryman Campground was reassurance that, while I may not NEED it, it's super nice to have. Was riding conservatively (even for me) on this first real ride on the new bike and still PR'd two downhill segments, and I was able to ride much further with gears and suspension on some of the rooty and rocky climbs. Of course, I was slower uphill overall, but I felt way less beat up at the end.

Unexpected evening home without family for a while, so I got out on the bike. Planned to ride 45 min to an hour, but just rode til I ran into a trail closed sign and turned around. Very unmotivated to ride gravel lately, which doesn't bode well for Coast to Coast next month.
