Mountain biking (Middlefork) 4:53:39 [4] 29.6 mi (6.0 mph) +3488ft
ahr:135 max:173 rhr:48 slept:6.5 shoes: Superfly SS

Haven't mountain biked in 2 weeks, haven't ridden rigid/SS in over a month. It showed. No confidence for the first 8+ miles. It did get better after that, but my legs never did show up. This makes a 119-mile week on the bike, which is more than normal, so maybe it's just some residual fatigue. Anyway, glorious day to ride trails, though I could have done without the thorny sections.

Biking (To work) 1:44:40 [4] 22.8 mi (13.1 mph) +610ft
ahr:134 max:158 rhr:47 slept:7.5 shoes: Airborne Delta CX

Constant headwind out of the south when my route was largely south. My mental game has softened because I was really feeling sorry for myself about the wind. Added in surprise rain as well.

Biking (Commute) 4:47 [1] 0.7 mi (8.8 mph)
shoes: Airborne Delta CX

This was supposed to be part of the ride home entry but I couldn't get the new route to load during the activity. User error I'm sure.
2 PM

Biking (Commute home) 1:38:52 [4] 27.6 mi (16.7 mph) +797ft
ahr:141 max:165 shoes: Airborne Delta CX

Trying a different route home -- the couple miles along Hwy 158 were as bad as the section along Green Mount Rd. Big shoulder, but really fast cars. I don't think this way is any improvement over the original. The tailwind assist was much appreciated, though.

Biking (Callaway Fork) 1:58:14 [3] 27.0 mi (13.7 mph) +1037ft
ahr:112 max:159 rhr:49 slept:2.0 shoes: Airborne Delta CX

Woke up at 1:30 a.m. and checked Sarah Cooper's RAAM tracker. She was less than 30 miles from West Alton, the closest time station to my house. I'd set my alarm for 4, so it seemed like fate that I woke up when I did. Headed out, did some sitting in a gas station parking lot -- amazing how busy it was at 2-3 a.m. -- hung out with her advance crew, and got to cheer her on as she rode into IL. They invited me to follow them to a quick gas station stop across the river, so I got to give her a hug and then went on my way to stay out of the way.

Since I was already wide awake, came home and got my bike together to go ride Callaway Fork. Good ride, but I'm soooooo tired now.
