Little Bennett - Blue Course
18 controls; 8.3 km; 170 m
ADT: 10.3 km; AC: 250 m

Tried, unsuccessfully, to keep my feet dry. The mud was unavoidable. All in all it was a challenging course, even though a couple of the controls were very easy to find.

Walking 19:20 [3] 1.0 mi (19:20 / mi)

New shoes! After over 720 miles of walking in the last pair (mostly on pavement) I finally got me a new pair of walking/bicycling shoes: Merrell Moab Waterproof (size 9M; color Espresso). I'm gonna track miles walked and miles bicycled separately here on AP.

Bicycling 19:10 [3] 3.9 mi (4:55 / mi)
shoes: MMW14:b

9 AM

Bicycling 22:40 [3] 4.6 mi (4:56 / mi)
shoes: MMW14:b

Returned to bicycling on the MVT and 4MRT. I only had to dismount and walk the bicycle once. There were some other icy patches but they were all small enough that I was able to bicycle through them.

I crashed into a guardrail when I was trying to shift from one ice-free lane to another. I wasn't moving very fast and the bike sustained most of the impact. My only injury was a mild bruise on my right shin.
