A family outing to Kananaskis for some x-country skiing in fresh powder.
Everything was coated in heavy snow!
The trail was a steady up followed by a loooong and fun down! 2 wipe-outs for me :)

2 HaLing repeats with David, Tom and Lyen. It was almost a blizzard out there! There was a group of hikers ahead of us and there were breaking the trail but not even half way up we passed them and the hard work began....at least for the boys as I strategically placed myself at the end of the line;) It wasn't so bad till we passed the tree line, then the snow was knee deep and when accidentally stepping off the trail, waist deep! We didn't go all the way to the top, just the rim. Going down was a bit sketchy in some parts but once we hit the trees, it was runnable. Got down to the trail head and headed back up. 3/4 way up, Lyen and Tom turned around and David and I continued on till the tree line ended and then we run down. Originally we were planning to run High Rockies after, but it was quite windy out of the trees, so we decided to drive all the way down to the river and continue there.

David and I run one loop along the river and then I did one more solo.
I was walking bits of it, I felt some tightness in the lateral part of the knee so didn't want to push it, walking helped.

Trail Culture run. It was so slippery that we turned back halfway. A bunch of us wanted extra mileage so we did one hill repeat of the 1 mile hill at Dead Men's Flats.
