Orienteering race 6:47:32 [3] 25.62 km (15:54 / km) +148m 15:28 / km

I am so glad the race has been rescheduled from last week till today as the weather was absolutely awesome.
Eco, Amber and I were doing great till we got to the Butterfly. We did 13 and 14 first then headed to do 16 and 17...that's when the orienteering gods stopped smiling and decided to challenge us instead. First, going through that ridiculously deep, dirty swamp I lost the SI. Eco and I tried for few minutes to look for it, while standing waist deep(for Eco) in water; I naively thought they were made to float not sink...I was wrong. (I am actually going to test that theory next time at a race...of course within the safety of a bathroom sink)
From then on we were taking pictures of the controls in case we could use it as proof. That wasn't necessary...We overshot CP17 and spent way too much time looking for it, going through more swampy, wet areas. Eventually we found it; then proceeded to finish the Butterfly with 10 and 11 (again some time looking for 11). After this we realized we would not make the cut-off of 1500 at CP 20 so we just took the road and Quarry trail directly to 20, abandoning 18 and 19. From 20 we just headed back to the finish line.
Glad there were few burgers left for us.
Thank you Eco and Amber for great race.
P.S. Garmin uploaded but battery died at km 20
