O race 19:04 [3] 3.0 km (6:21 / km) +50m 5:52 / km

QB3 last day and a sprint event around the local Coffs educational campus- which has a small uni and high school and tafe on the one place. Gunned it from the start and never really got my breath back - leg a bit sore but drove thru the pain barrier and nearly got second overall - just 31 seconds short. Closest competitor was a no show which I did not realise and the 4th person I beat at the sprint anyway. Nice event with more route choice than I expected. So overall 3rd place and a badge - albeit helped by others miss punching on Day 1.

O race 52:41 [4] 6.4 km (8:14 / km) +132m 7:28 / km

Day 2 of QB3 - longer distance race north of Coffs by about 80KMs - spotted gum forest - spur gully with some erosion in water courses - grass was a bit long in some parts which slowed the running (fast walk was quicker on some slopes for me). Nailed all controls as not that technical - one route choice meant I went into water up to the knees after the heavy rain here last week end (around 400 mm). Happy with time given my lack of running training and very happy the leg held up. QB3 is based on cumulative times so after 2 days I was sitting 3rd in M60A and 26 seconds ahead of another guy that ran 4 minutes faster today - and about 1.5 minutes ahead of another fast runner. Was a bit over 4 minuted behind 2nd after 2 days. No pressure for day 3.

O race 40:40 [4] 4.34 km (9:22 / km) +38m 8:59 / km

Day 1 of QB3 event at lovely and warm Coffs Harbour - middle distance on a great sand dune area adjacent to the Game Fishing Club. Orienteered well - just a few small hiccups on the odd control - used the tracks a lot to simplify the complexity of the terrain (meant wider route choice but the direct line was both more physical and technical - leg held up well - finished toward the top - but helped by some of the pre race favourites miss punching. Visited the Club that evening for a club dinner and views of the water. Temp was around 20C.

Peleton of 2 - windy and coolish - nice coffee at 38 Expresso that enlivened us for the ride home. Bits of floating trees and timber on the lake after the downpour last weekend. Nice ride tho.

Yoga 1:20:00 [3]

First session after a break of 1.5 weeks - took it easy as still getting physio treatment for my back.
