Sprint Series 3 at Olympic Park

Enjoyable course and appreciated the controls being attached to stands. Was tentative early on, losing about a minute through the tricky short legs 3-6. Mistakenly punched 17 on the way to 6. Lost another 30secs on indirect routes to 7 and 19. Otherwise had a good run, 8th place, 3mins behind Aidan.

Starting to get the hang of sprint/line courses but need to get more consistency in my split rankings - ranged from 1st (8 & 10) to 88th (19). Quick decision making on the shorter technical sections needs improvement and more time spent planning ahead during the longer open running sections will help.

SSS at Mort Bay

Nice hilly harbour side course. Felt ok for the first 30mins but then was sick for last 25min... Did an anti-clockwise loop starting with 7 then Ballast Point (30-10-20), and 26-19. Lost 30 secs running up to 29 from below it. 6-18-28 (lost another 30 secs going back too high exiting 18). Clean through 8-9-17 then a slight error (10secs) looking too early for 5. 15-4-24-14 then unfortunately stomach cramps set in and had to walk. Not sure if it was something I ate, but felt similar to East Lindfield run on Nov-19. Couldn't find any toilets and really needed to go so only option was to go in the harbour near 23-13. Walked 22-2 and 12 via the sand. Stomach felt better so managed to jog to 25-11-21. Jumped in the harbour again at Mort Bay. Luckily had a towel and change of clothes for the drive home.

Still managed an ok score considering, 580 in 55.36 = 470. But even if well and with a 'clean' run, doubt I would have got the much needed 100 points in OM with Julian Dent scoring 570. Although my plan to skip 3 would have saved some time. 9 was probably another not worth it. Richard 550, Andy 530 and Brooner 520.
