After some stretching with Dog Days Group, walked downtown (sometimes under the awnings to avoid the short burst of rain).

Trying to do adductor muscle stretching several times during the day.

strength/stretching (Dog Days) 40:00 [1] 1.0 km (40:00 / km)
slept:7.0 shoes: Brooks Pureflow 5

At Comm. Building. Kenny Baldwin led workout with 10 laps around gym. Tried to save some energy before this evening's 5K.
6 PM

running/walking warm up/down (walking/running) 25:00 [1] 2.0 mi (12:30 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Hoka One One

Warmup jog/walk from Levee Cafe to 8th & Ash for start of Ad Astra Free 5K. Then started the 5K and pulled adductor muscle (right) and had to quit. Walked to the finish near 3rd & Elm and helped with finish results.
Bad luck. I feared eventually some day I would get injured again. Today was the day. Cause: probably several long runs close together last weekend, new stretches at Dog Days with emphasis on doing them with more vigor. Did two days in a row of Dog Days - both harder than usual for me. Guess I have to cancel that treadmill stress test next Wed.

Iced. Read Grisogono's "Sports Injuries" - immediately started stretching exercises.

strength/stretching (Dog Days) 30:00 [1]
slept:8.0

At Sports Pavilion today. Red Dog led drills which today included the "do 1 pushup jog 10m, 2 pushups, back to start, 3, then 4, ... until you do 10. I did 9. Felt like I had some energy today.

orienteering 57:00 [2] 4.0 mi (14:15 / mi)
shoes: Patagonia EVERLong

Went to Arboretum to check my courses and control points. Made a few changes and maybe altered courses (of course). Overcast, temp: 50F, slight breeze. Wore a short-sleeve shirt and ditched the jacket this time. Felt fine.

Stop and go to check trails I had left off and other map changes.

(rest day)

Glucose level blood test at LMH, took 4 1/2 hours. Finished reading the bio on Amelia Earhart (author: Kathleen Winters). Dee's also reading this book from the library. Read about the Wright Brothers last year; who next?
Concern: hypoglycemia.

Note
(rest day)

Went to LMH to get a blood test, but they turned me away when I said I did not fast. I had asked the nurse from my doctor's office if I should fast; I'm sure she said no. Anyway, will go back tomorrow.
