To Danbury Common. Pushing hard to try and get there for noon. Extremely pleasant route almost the whole way - definitely need to do this one again, go more slowly and visit a pub or two on the way.

SOS Danbury Common. Hot. Slowed a bit near the end so that I didn't pass out from the heat! The area was pleasant, but the undergrowth was pretty high (no suprise at this time of year) and a lot of the controls were very well hidden, e.g. hung low at bottom of pits. However SOS get a big bonus point from me for providing squash at the finish (and also for letting me register after registartion had closed). Finished comfortably second, but six minutes down on J Albon. Course distance was 6.6km with 115m climb.

Slow, weary cycle to Battlesbridge, then Rochford, Southend-on-Sea (long break) and along to Leigh-on-Sea, Pitsea and Basildon. Quite a big section after Southend was not on tarmac. Should have got the train back from Southend, really.
