Orienteering 55:12 [1] 2.81 km (19:39 / km) +62m 17:42 / km
ahr:101 max:140 shoes: Acceleritis 2018

Yellow course with Alfie. Long and rough, he tripped about third way in, which also didn't help. He completed it.

Running warm up/down 12:16 [2] 1.35 km (9:05 / km) +54m 7:34 / km
ahr:116 max:147 shoes: Acceleritis 2018

Running (Trooperstown Brown) 1:09:28 [3] 8.47 km (8:12 / km) +210m 7:18 / km
ahr:161 max:195 shoes: Acceleritis 2018

Ankle didn't hold up and hobbled more and more, especially from 19 onwards.

Some weird and amusing things from this.
I had fastest split on a downhill leg. Downhill is always a weakness of mine.

no. 9 after spectator control (yes they had an 'arena' spectator control) also fastest split. I faffed around for at least 30 seconds. What did everyone else do?

but most amusing was ColmM standing looking at his map in confusion...like a lost 12yo while I ran past, punched control and left the scene.

Strange day..lovely wood, good course, most enjoyable.

Orienteering race (IOC relay, 2nd H12) 31:14 [5] 4.45 km (7:01 / km) +54m 6:36 / km
ahr:151 max:180 shoes: Acceleritis 2018

Woke up, ankle felt just good enough to race, but during brief warmup, it felt bad.
Once on the way though it was fine. Raced with Gus for first 5, then I was really bad with direction for 3 controls and dropped many minutes. Amazingly team mates bailed me out and had great runs to get 2nd.

Finished weekend with 4 silvers. Amazing...but feel, I hardly deserved one.

Really enjoyable IOC. Fantastic well done to FermO and wider orienteering community.
