Could have done with doing the green with yesterday in the legs but the Brown is much more interesting without the green and black. Managed a reasonable trot for an hour but walked a lot more after that and got bored and dropped concentration. got lucky on a couple so no significant Nav time loses.

Legs are OK, today should have helped them.

Glorious day, but I find glorious day conditions tough to run in as I found it quite hot.

So only about 1 minute slower than 2012, though at one stage I was almost 2 minutes quicker. The climb up Prince William was tough.

The 2 minutes were gained on the descent for 2 reasons, the ankles were taped and got a tow from Laurence. Laurence dropped me on the straight descent to the Dargle river as my shadow was directly in front and I struggled to focus on the ground. Climb up Prince William was tough because of the heat and possibly the taped ankles probably contributed to the tender heals and heat in feet as well as extra weight.

So on balance I'm probably better off not taping ankles, and going slower on the technical sections. I really enjoyed the first 62 minutes which got me to the Glencree River and and 13km but the next 12k took 69 minutes and was quite a struggle. A respectable run, but I'd love it if it was wet :)

Windsprints. 12 x 100 with 100 float. Could have done a couple more but doing IMRA trail on Sat. Unfortunately Wicklow road 5k is on the following Fri. Was a target race, usually held in late April, but end of Mar date suddenly announced about 3 weeks back. Heard rumour it was to suit a particular club...
Will still run it as club are in a hunt for team medals but if I go well in the MMT, I won't be recovered.

Quite likely I would have got myself into PB shape by end of April. May have to target 5k somewhere else.
