Running 59:00 [3] 7.25 mi (8:08 / mi)

Final Esri UC run (activity #7). Ran down the bike path towards Alexandria and then crossed the bridge (I-395) towards Haines Point. Then took the DC side back towards the Lincoln Memorial and across the Arlington Memorial bridge. Not sure why I've never run this route before, I bike it a lot. I think I thought it was longer than it actually is.

First half I felt ok, second half I felt like death and the last .5 miles my knees started to ache (but not hurt... not sure where that pain disappeared to, but I'm ok with it!). That's enough running for me! Back to my usually scheduled programming after this week, i.e. less running. Cloudy, coolish (75 degrees) and very humid although it was quite breezy on the bike path which was nice. I don't think I've ever been so soaking wet after a run that was not in the rain.

Need to roll out today, calves are tight.

Esri UC run #3 (activity #5). We are not gonna make it around the world :( we're at 9,000 km collectively and have to get to 40,000 by the end of tomorrow lol. I'm still gonna keep trying!

Here's a link to one of the dashboards that shows people's routes.

Ran down the bike path to Gravelly Point. I was worried the path would be busy since there were a lot of people out around Iwo Jima but it was actually quite quiet. Was going a comfortable but solid pace, not really pushing it at all. Once I got to GP I ran around the field until a plane took off then went back home. This slowed down my average pace from around 7:45 to 8:30 since the grass is slow. Blisters are terrible, like usual. Wish I had started earlier, not much time to relax before a very long day of work. Tomorrow I'll try to be out the door by 6:30.

Esri UC run #2 (activity #3, went on a walk yesterday). I have to carry my phone with me to log these using an Esri app which is very annoying for me. I don't know how people run with phones by choice, makes me feel slow and heavy.

Ran to W-L high school and was going to do a mile around the track but when I got there it was PACKED. There must have been 60 people on the field/ around the track! A bunch of different classes going on and some camp/sports team in the middle with like 30 teenage girls running around. No thank you, not gonna hang out there. Did one lap and left. Waaaaay too many sweaty/exercising people in one area.

Running 48:00 [3] 6.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Virtual Esri UC fun run #1. Will and I were supposed to be in San Diego this week for "work" (I was going to attend UC)/ vacation. Would have been a great time and we would have been able to hang out with Anna for the week (while not working/conferencing). Well, that got cancelled like everything else. They set up a "virtual fun run". The goal is to run/walk as much as possible from the 13th to the 17th so that everyone's miles add up to the distance around the world. As of around 8am I was one of the leaders in terms of speed/ distance run but I'll definitely drop down the list fast. Luckily, Will and I go on 2-3 mile walks pretty much every evening so I think I can add those to my total distance too. I never log those since they're pretty chill but for this occasion I think they count.

I ran over to the Mall and around the Reflecting Pool, then back home. Legs felt good the first 4 miles. The way home never feels as good since it's "uphill".

Cycling 3:08:00 [3] 50.5 mi (16.1 mph)

The usual. Ride up to MD. Weather was actually not bad, the humidity was way down from the past couple of days even though it was around 90 degrees. Legs felt good, tired the last 5 miles.

CX season has pretty much been cancelled :( The earliest we'll have another bike race is probably late February 2021. We race almost every weekend during the road and cx seasons so it's kinda sad.
