Orienteering race 1:31:37 [4]

Green Y (F 20) Long
Not the best run, #2 really killed me, trying to be safe and taking a ridiculous route choice back though the start (apperiantly I wasn't the only one to do this) everything else I got pretty fast, a few controls I was looking around for a bit but no other mistakes. I wish I could have raced yesterday, middle is my favorite and I had to get into the swing of things while racing... Nervous for tomorrow, RELAY iiiippp

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Quite rushed..got to Bear Mt. at 3:10, raced at 4:00 on the nose

XC race race 19:54 [5] 3.0 mi (6:38 / mi)

League Meet against N. Rockland, Clarkstown S. & N.
Yes! another successful day :)
First of all got under 20! And second of all got 6 th place overall out of 58 and was our 5th girl.. That means I get to keep my varsity spot in counties, sections and so on. Was nervous because it was our whole team together and there is lots of competition for spots on varsity. Only thing that's a bit bumming is that I wasn't 5th, a N. Rockland girl got in-between Anna and I (yes Anna is back on top)... I'm really relieved and happy though :) another good one
Ohh and top 14 get plaques! Yay league champs

Orienteering 29:00 [3]

Compass course- Ran a course of 7 controls backwards with the areas between 3 of them whited out. Good training for using your compass and taking bearings. The first control took me a bit, I wasn't running and I had to get into the flow of orienteering but the rest were fine :) good idea

Orienteering 39:00 [3]

Short course- 10 controls with a bunch of the same controls as in the compass course in the beginning. Everything else went fine, no mistakes just spending a little bit of time searching for the streamer, I have to work on looking up and around.

Orienteering 46:00 [3]

Contour course- 13 controls.. Not as hard as I expected, got most of them right away but again spent a bit of time searching. I like this course, it is one thing to say you are simplifying with a normal map but this makes you simplify...there is nothing else to look at besides big swamps, trails and streams.Definetly my favorite course today :)

Great training session, nice to be able to train with others and have feedback on orienteering and running in general from Erin. :) talked about having a mentor or coach nearby to train with a couple times a week, thought that was a really good idea, I would get out a lot more if I had someone to give me pointers and design training with me.

Running warm up/down 9:00 [3]

Warm up got ready to orienteer by running in a follow the leader form through the woods, and jogged on trails
