Note

Yay, just managed to secure my entry to the Edale Skyline! Thanks to FRBlackSheep for suggesting that I put in a request for an on hold place after I originally attempted to enter mid morning on Thursday only to find there were already 30 reserves by then.
12 PM

Road running long 1:34:45 [3] 21.26 km (4:27 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Universe

City Runners' half marathon route (anti-clockwise: Bermondsey, Rotherhithe, round Greenland dock, Deptford, Greenwich foot tunnel, Isle of Dogs (westside), Wapping, Bermondsey, with a final loop round Shad Thames to bring it up to the half).
Generally felt good and legs not too tired. Fortunately unlike in the past few days my right big toe nail showed few signs of wanting to fall off, after I stubbed it orienteering last Sunday.

Cycling 30:18 [3] 6.1 mi (4:58 / mi)

2 PM

Road running race 25:50 [5] 7.81 km (3:18 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Universe

Chingford League road race, Victoria Park (the "not quite 5 miles")
Reasonable pleased with my run, particularly given how heavy my legs had been feeling this morning during the intervals session. I'd initially tried to keep with Eton Manor's Tomas but fell back at the end of the first lap (of two), before being overtaken by Dan Moses of Orion in the 2nd.

I do, however, realise I'll need to keep upping my mileage and maintaining the speed sessions over the coming months to be comfortable with 6 minute mileing over 26.2.

Note
(rest day)

I had considered running in to work today, until I found I wasn't leaving work until 01:30 on Friday morning. I'm not a big fan of getting little over 5 hours sleep and then running for a little under an hour.
