Easy early morning single track run at Hydrocut. Really quite nice in the early morning light with the rain drops still clinging to the foliage.

Kayaking / Canoeing 40:00 [3] 4.8 km (7.2 kph)
shoes: Sun Velocity Kayak (Red)

Grand River. First paddle in the boat! :-) 4 x 10min paddle+5min rest intervals-ish.

Paddled upstream on the Grand from the Old King St bridge and then back downstream to the car. You really get an appreciation for how quickly a river is moving when you do something like that :-) ... as expected it was more of a workout and I really didn't get too far, lol.

I thought because I was going for a workout, this would be OK, but it's actually a bit distracting because it's harder to learn good technique when fighting the current, and it's hard to pay attention to the nuances of the boat.

I'll go downstream from there next time as my neighbour tells me after the bridge it opens up really wide and gets deep and slow.

MTB Urban 1:14:00 [3] 18.85 km (15.3 kph)
shoes: Diadora XTrail 2 C

Urban riding w/ Claudio: Lancaster to Breithaupt Park, Breithaupt "single track" and hill climbs, to Grand River Trail to Bingemans and back, Lancaster.

Note

Training fail.

Going paddling and biking with WandAR... borrow a paddle last minute as Kelso doesn't rent during the week until July (what?) [Thanks Mr & MrsTiny]

Normal excessive appointment delays delay and sap WandARs life energy... No worries, I'll just go paddling here on the grand.

Raining with thunderstorms called for... hmmm bad choice. I'll just snooze on the couch and head to track.

Wake up late for track, and sun is shining, sky is clear.... ugh.,

Neighbour shows up with used paddle for $50... sold! Well not a write off today, lol... good thing I was home :-D

Get an impromptu dry land paddling lesson - nice!

OK, well I'm hungry I'll just eat a bit and entertain heading to the gym shortly for weights, lol.

Tapering for the race Saturday by way of nothing going as planned...

Trail/Off-road Running (ARK) 10:00 [2] 11.6 km (52 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 12 (White/Bl

A couple of mud run laps and a bit of back and forth.

Kudo's to Patrick for finding at least 4 good patches of mud and planning a route over every fallen tree and stick in the woods, plus a good steep hill climb towards the end of the loop.

The kids loved it! [Well, ok some didn't want to get muddy, lol...]

8 PM

Trail/Off-road Running 1:02:30 [3] 11.25 km (5:33 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 12 (White/Bl

Bechtel loops trail loops post ARK [I don't know where my trail map is with the marked distances / just guessing right now ... I think it's 3K loops... ran 3.75 loops]
