trail run 11:30:00 [3]

Bob and I set out to do the Silhouette trail. We kinda hummed and hawed all month but temps were perfect and no bugs! Planned to run about 6km/ hour and hopefully get us in around midnight. We were on pace until darkness hit and we slowed significantly (enough so that it wouldn't be fair to call the entire loop a run). I won't talk about the ridiculous headlamps Bob brought.

I think we finished in just over 17 hours. I have never solidly done activity on my feet for that long so I went to some new and interesting places including an overwhelming desire to cry about everything which didn't last long because Bob had peanut butter cups.

The board in the park says 100km but the GPS measured in around 85km. I'm now 100 percent sure that ultra running isn't for me - after 50km I think something leaves me and it's likely my soul. Also, I have no idea how people run with a decent sized pack for that long...I can hardly lift my shoulders today!

Awesome views and we saw a cuddly bear cub and a moose!

trail run (Night trekking) 6:30:00 [2]

Spooky! Lots of eyes in the forest.
