3 PM

Road run 52:00 [3] 9.2 km (5:39 / km)

Chariot run with Hank. it's been a while and I forgot how hard it is.

To Goldsmiths in a round about way. Stopped watch but could add another 1.5km and 7min to the total distance.
5 PM

Other 20:00 [2]

core and a good stretch. Pain behind the right knee. ugh

12 PM

biking 4:20:00 [3] 95.0 km (21.9 kph)

Goose and I waited until the hottest part of the day to start this ride! Planned to maybe go to Creemore and back but opted for Glen Huron return as long as we stopped for tasty treats. Lucky to have such flexible teammates now that I'm often on a Hank crunch!

Most excellent day - hopefully he made it back in time for dinner, Coach!

trail run hills 1:04:00 [3]

2 times at the Peaks. Planned to run both but bumped into a friend so I did a climb at a very civilized hiking pace. Race the second. Bob and Hank did 2 climbs too. Sweaty!

12 PM

yoga 35:00 [2]

Usual low back flow with an added 'Yoga for Flexibility' (because we should all have goals, people!)

12 AM

trail run race (Ragnar Relay) 53:00 [4] 8.5 km (6:14 / km)

Gosh I love running in the dark. (I say this now but I'm sure that in November, it'll get old and fast!)

Headlamp started flashing about 4km in. Oops. Should have freshened up the battery knowing that I used the same headlamp around camp. Made it in with light but had to keep readjusting each time it flickered. It made me run faster I suppose.
7 AM

trail run race (Ragnar Relay) 50:00 [4] 7.3 km (6:51 / km)

Yellow loop. known as the medium loop but it was definitely my hardest go about. 2 big climbs rather then a bunch of punchy blips.

Such a fun event, honoured to join a great team!

Friday Aug 24, 2018 #

6 PM

trail run race (Ragnar Relay) 38:00 [4] 7.4 km (5:08 / km)

Ragnar Relay with Salomon Blue Mountain. Green loop for me to start which was the 'easiest'. This was probably my biggest effort because I was feeling the freshest so I argue different. ;)

Thursday Aug 23, 2018 #

1 PM

hiking 1:00:00 [2] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)

Hike with Hank and Goose from the chalet at Albion. Did some Mud Hero spying and great chats. Stuck around and had a picnic with Hank and then met up with Mandy for a shorter hike in the same area.
8 PM

yoga 26:00 [1]

Abi Carver video.

Warm up plus drills 3km
3x800m @5km pace recovery ~3min
3x500m @3km pace recovery ~90 seconds
2x200m recovery ~90 second
Cool down

I’m starting to know what 5km pace feels like and I’m certain I never want to any longer than 20 minutes at that pace. Awful.
8 PM

Other 25:00 [2]

Lots of yoga and stretch. IT band is sticky. Always something...

Monday Aug 20, 2018 #

10 AM

trail run 1:39:00 [3] 14.0 km (7:04 / km)

Awesome run with goose. Still feeling sluggish on the climbs. Can’t say it was the heat. Ideal running temps today. Excellent company and beauty run. Goose is fit!

Sunday Aug 19, 2018 #

yoga 26:00 [2]

During nap.

Also, lots of active recovery yesterday and today. Lots of stroller walks, trike walks and chariot bikes for icecream!

Saturday Aug 18, 2018 #

6 AM

trail run 1:02:00 [3]

Should have pulled the chute when I woke up. Felt sluggish before I got out the door. Muscled my way through 8km before heading back home. Will take 2 days off and recover properly from BPMR.

It’s been a few weeks so I’m going to pay the price!

Also, I was late this am.

kayaking race (Bruce Peninsula Multispor) 1:47:48 [4] 13.5 km (7.5 kph)

You better believe it took me that long to paddle <14 km with an Epic V6.

Fastest TA at 2:36!

***shortened paddle due to weather***

biking race (BPMR) 1:42:00 [4] 32.0 km (18.8 kph)

Worked my way up the ranks on the bike. Super fun, super fast. I basically yo-yoed with Janel until she took off just out of reach. She is great!

Second fastest TA @1:50 - Janel beat me by 2 seconds!!!

trail run race (BPMR) 58:28 [3] 8.0 km (7:19 / km)

technical, fun and zippy running. I got turned around once in there but otherwise it was pretty uneventful except that I got to see FB. :)

3 minute TA and third fastest. I couldn't find the truck to drop my bag. (I'm not sure why I'm obsessed with my TA's?!)

biking race (BPMR) 1:18:00 [4] 24.0 km (18.5 kph)

Bike no. 2 I shit the bed on my TA bags and didn't have enough bike fuel for this ride. Thankfully the bike TA had liquid fuel but that meant I was going into the run hungry...

TA 2:02 - fastest

trail run race (BPMR) 1:51:33 [4] 16.0 km (6:58 / km)

ate a sandwich out of the TA and felt much better. I hadn't planned to feel this spent going into the race but my crap paddle forced me to work way harder on the bike. Part of me thought I could *maybe* catch Karine on the run (but only because at dinner the night before she said running wasn't her strength) but in reality, she killed the run and was much further ahead. Longest run in a while and it was stinking HOT! I was feeling the day 7km into this run but I kept a steady pace and was super happy to see the winding staircase.

Solid effort and so great to see so many friends. Super grateful for everyone that helped me get to the start line. Hank was the real champ with his first overnight at Nana's. I know I say this often but it legit takes a village to allow us to keep doing these silly things.

2x1km (3min recovery)
2x500m (2 minute recovery)

3km cool down

Thursday Aug 2, 2018 #

12 PM

trail run 1:41:00 [3] 12.5 km (8:05 / km)

Lionshead on route home - how could I pass this opportunity?!

Detoured to McKague road to save time. This is about as technical as it gets and ankle held up! So happy.
8 PM

core 10:00 [2]

This has been my sleep training routine for a few months now. Might as well get something in while reassuring Hank every 3-5 minutes. Now that we’re home our schedule is WHACK.

Wednesday Aug 1, 2018 #

9 AM

biking 1:08:00 [3]

Same as Tuesday, Frater road return. No playing around in the park this time.

yoga 26:00 [2]

And various core.

Boys were napping.

hiking 1:30:00 [3]

With Hank. Sweaty. Hilly. Hungry. But oh so pretty and worth it. Hank must be weighing in at 23lbs these days. Plus I carried all the necessities!
