Met up with FB, Willderness and Mike for a beauty trail run in Hockley Valley. Cold start but the oodles of climbing warmed you up and fast. The trails were pretty much in perfect condition too.

Perfect morning followed by lunch and beers where Mike showed off his natural ability to speak Afrikaans.

Set a goal of running of a late fall 50k trailrace and funderstorm found the Big Foot Trail Challenge in Lore State Park, Ohio. What an awesome girls weekend with Mrs. Tiny, Funderstorm and of course, the spirit of Taylor Swift.

We basically woke up to torrential rain (with torrential rain all evening) but I think our ability to HTFU served us well in this race. This was Crank the Shield all over again for me!

Beautiful park with awesome and flowing single track. Really felt like I pushed this race to my max because I truely wanted to 'race' it to its entirety. I often asked myself "are you out of your comfort zone?" If the answer was no, I went there. It's a yuckie feeling, to be honest! Haha

Après race happy hour of wine, shananagans and the ambiance of a beautiful lodge.

Thanks to the two lovelies for their awesome race support and making me feel like a winner! Awesome venue, race is recommended. I would love to go back for a weekend of biking or paddling when the trails are dry and the colours are changing.
