Fantastic day with DD11 and since Chris wrote an essay style report it saves me from re-telling our day ;)

I will say that some highlights included my fantastic teammate, the great weather, our EPIC view of Georgian Bay (How can you drive 2.5 hrs and not get the view ;) ), scaling a cliff just after CP 178, the nervous feeling I got when we went to 201 and 208 with 20 minutes to spare and of course the awesome downhill sprint into the finish!

Great day and awesome race. It's always neat to see the race unfold after watching all the effort put in. Very impressive :)

-I heard on the radio that today was the day most people throw their New Years Resolutions out the window....

trail run 1:15:00 [2]

-went out to see the conditions and it was slippery! I stayed cautious. Found some company along the way when 2 dogs followed me with no owners in sight...total ankle biters too! I was too worried about coyotes to leave them but thankfully they had dog tags and they are now happy at home :) Turns out this is normal behaviour for 'Zoe' and 'Scout'.

spent today on the course with DD11 my SSR partner and had a lovely morning! Tough start as we needed to gain some early confidence. First box went as follows: e,d,c,b,f (original plan was to hit f first as I thought we were there when we were truly at e, oops.) 1 and 2 were smooth, all things considered including my dirty coughing. A,B,D and waaaaaaaaay back to H, F, G oooops again! Should have taken the road after E over to F but got confused with the archery range. 3-8, again all things considered were pretty smooth.

Stuck to the trails today but I have to admit, there was lots of confusion with the foot prints and determining if they were trails or not.

Also, the map was 1:10 000 which would explain why things came up so damn fast!

Looking very forward to SSR :)
