mountain biking 1:10:00 [2] 15.0 km (12.9 kph)

First mountain bike of the season and with my bro. Perfect. Easy cruising. I love my bike. I love this weather.

SE side of Bronte Creek and back, wanted to try the north side but time was precious.
Still pretty muddy to get in but fine after the first km. Saw 1 dead snake and 1 live being held by a little girl (man, I have issues).

-rather then surviving on the skiis, I wanted to avoid terrible technique
-basically 3 things to remember/work on and apparently the puzzle will come together: heel under the hip, compression, and balance...(baby toes to the ground)
-I learned tons of awesome drills to work on, including poling techniques too
-I thought my shins were sore when I first tried skiing...
-best money spent was taking a lesson, fingers crossed the rain doesn't come tonight so I can continue tomorrow!
-Spent another 60 minutes working on the beautiful technique I developed ;)

-BEAUTIFUL sunny day to be outside
-tough go along the road to begin because everything I own, hurted
-it's surprising how quick you get into a rhythm and the pain goes away
-I didn't look at my map once today because we had some serious competition...hehehe
-much more confident on the uneven terrain
-we came through the finish after 3 hours 50 minutes and I was SO disappointed to see Harper in his clean clothes ;)
-Awesome weekend, great people and TONS of fun out on the course
-if you want a real race recap you might want to read another log

orienteering race 7:51:00 [3] 46.0 km (10:14 / km) +1165m 9:05 / km

-SUPER FUN weekend at my first Snowgaine Race
-We ended up on foot for both days
-I think we covered about 42 km on the first day, although my Garmin died after 33.5km
-I was still a Nervous Nelly through the bushwhacking (this will come in time)
-I think I followed along on the map for about 60 percent of the day (coordination will also come)
-I was ready to be finished by the 7th hour, it's a mystery to me how most people cover days on end...
-We were rewarded with tasty bbq'd hot dogs at the finish, totally worth it in my opinion
-More magical rewards followed with hot showers, dinner at La Iguana (who knew...?) and magical birthday cupcakes from Sweet and Thoughtful Leanimal

Road run 1:40:00 [3] 17.5 km (5:43 / km)

-planned a longer run into Thornbury but the epic wind conditions forced us to turn around
-ran up Scenic Caves with a gross head wind (you know that dream where you're running and not moving, doing everything you can with your hands etc. to keep going?? I lived that dream part way up Scenic Caves, it was wild)
-Continued along the top but the winds and white outs were not in our favor
-ran down Scenic Caves, punished my legs and continued through the village and back
-My legs felt light and solid but likely because in my head I was going to run 30 plus k

*Looking at my company, it may look like I rounded up to 17.5 but that is not the case*
