Whatever could go wrong, did go wrong...
- 3 errors (all 2mins +)
- Injured knee
- Lost my dibber (-12mins)
Race went ahead despite about 1-2inches of snow around (it got worse during the day)... something I was originally quite happy about. Set off ok, but not moving too well. Going over my left ankle quite often (always hurt for just a few seconds).
Error on #2, as I missed a junction in the snow. Another on #14, when I confused two paths. This is when my left knee started hurting again ... outside, below/inside the kneecap... went away when I slowed down to a gentle jog walk. Another large error at #21 as I drifted miles to the right (it all looked the same).
Didn't get any better from there. Lost by dibber after #24 in a 150m section which I then combed back and forth 5 times before I found it (Lost 12 mins). By this point I was completely demotivated and ended up jogging/walking back via the remaining controls to the finish, purely because it was the shortest way
Time for another week of recovery and trying to get the knee fixed!
Running (Warm-up) 5:00 [1] 0.6 km (8:20 / km)
..to start and near it. Didn't warm down, as I'd walked most of the way back
