Happier today :) Even though I'm disappointed not to have run sunday, I still had a good weekend with good performances. Got a physio appointment for tomorrow, so we'll see what Tess says about my ankle...

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Orienteering race 37:37 [4]
(injured)

JK Day 2, middle. Managed to stay positive and set off in a good frame of mind :) Almost messed up 1, was too low and not really sure where I'd come, but managed to work it out. 2,3 went fine, vegetation change confused me a bit at 3 and so then also confused me on 4 and was a bit slow/cautious. 5 was fine but then on the way to 6 I went over on my ankle. It was so sore, trying so hard not to burst into tears. Really didn't know what to do at this point but I saw Chris and I can't even remember what he said but i decided to carry on. Twisted it again and then I was too low for 6, not a good leg at all... After that I was sort of in a bit of a daze, can't really remember how I got round, but at the time I was managing to concentrate somehow on the race and not my ankle... Don't even know where I went to 16 (worked it out now) but I wasn't far off and relocated quickly. Then it was over and was hearing on the commentary that I was winning and then that I won by 1s. Still can't quite believe it and I just really can't stop feeling so disappointed that I went over on my ankle.
After some thought and advice, I've decided not to run tomorrow. Frustrating as that is, I've done so much better in these selection races than I thought I ever would and I just don't want to make my ankle worse, hopefully with a rest tomorrow I might be able to run monday...

Event: JK 2012

Running warm up/down 25:00 [1]
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Orienteering 18:00 [5]
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

JK Sprint: Was totally buzzing for this race! Just went in with a really good attitude and positive mindset and remembered only to run fast when I knew where I was going. It went well in general. I made a couple of bad route choices went the a long way round to 3, decided not to go through the thicket (crossable) to 7 because I wasn't sure how dense it would be so went round and also ran all the way round a wall at 9 which I now think was crossable but at the time didn't want to risk it. Also slipped on the mud and fell over on the way to 20 :/
Really happy with the result, need to go into races with that mindset more often though!

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1]
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Orienteering 8:19 [4]
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Sprint course in Livingston, training for the JK.
Running well and able to plan ahead at the speed I was running.

Running 10:00 [1]
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Between starts of the courses

Orienteering 16:18 [4]
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Second course, in a different bit. Bit more tricky and some shorter legs, still going well, took a dodgy route out of one of the controls, need to remember to properly plan my exit and not just the general route! Legs did start to hurt a bit towards the end and feeling quite tired once done. Full rest day tomorrow!

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Note

Saw Jane, the podiatrist again today, just for a check up about my insoles. She was still happy with the fit and basically said she was happy for me to decide when I wanted to wear them and how to use them.
