Orienteering race 48:58 [3] 7.4 km (6:37 / km)
ahr:140 max:161 shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Urban race round St Andrews. Jogged/ walked up the hills, trying to keep my hr low because I got more ill again...
Course went pretty well, going slow meant it was easier to plan ahead, in the first part anyway. Feeling a bit worse as the course went on and clearly my brain just wasn't working at the end because I went straight from 14 to 17.
Annoyed and frustrated as I've not done that before and kind of wished I just hadn't bothered going out...

Note
(sick)

So overall a bit of a disappointing weekend, but I think it's because I'm not better from this cold yet. Just need to accept that I'm ill and make sure I'm properly better before trying to train again, otherwise I'll keep going round in downward circles.

Running warm up/down 45:00 [1]

All WU/D for the day.

Orienteering race 14:36 [5] 2.7 km (5:24 / km)
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Part 1 of Scottish Sprint Champs. Went well, keeping on top of things and making sure I avoided dead ends etc and being really careful to check sides of things too. Planning ahead was ok but much harder in a sprint when you're thinking fast and running hard!
(Totally forgot to start my watch oops!)

Orienteering race 16:17 [5] 2.8 km (5:49 / km)
ahr:181 max:197 shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Part 2 Scottish Sprint Championships. Again went well would say it even went better. Was really on top of the navigation and felt I was running well considering I've just been ill!
Really enjoyed it.

However: I decided to disqualify myself after i realised that I had crossed through an area of OOB (on a well trodden path along the side of a building, clearly not made just by orienteers). The map didn't really match the ground that well, and I got confused. I didn't even realise I'd done it until it was pointed out to me after the race by someone else who has also disqualified themselves. Crossing the OOB didn't even gain me much, if any, time and it would have been really easy to go round but I just hadn't realised (and i'm one of those people who always checks really carefully!) I know the planner/controller had problems with this area and had had to mark it as OOB late on because of the gardeners, but I kind of think if it was that important to keep off it, maybe it should have been taped?!
The thing that annoys me the most though, is that I was not alone in doing this, not at all, I ran through there at the same time as many others and yet less than 10 people (so far) have disqualified themselves and I just don't think it's fair.
Ok sorry for that, rant over, i'm just a bit frustrated!

Note
(sick)

Feeling much better, just a teeny bit coldy still, so i'm happy that i'm almost better!
Ok got much worse as the afternoon/evening wore on, losing my voice...

Note
(sick)

Feeling so much better today, almost back to normal i think! Still have a really sore head at times though...
Gave the gym a miss just to make sure I don't overdo it too quickly and stayed at home pretty much all day, keeping nice and warm.

Cycling 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

To and from Craigleith to get a couple of things. Feeling ok and good to get out and do something!

Note
(sick)

So today I was throwing up (ew) so ended up staying at home most of the day and didn't go to FWTN either, planning on staying in tomorrow as well...

Note
(sick)

Woke up feeling awful and just could not face the gym, feeling a bit better by the time I left for uni but then it's just been such a busy day (had a field trip) and now feeling worse again. Was thinking of doing the hills session tomorrow but I'll give it a miss because there's FWTN...

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

Drills and a wee jog

Running intervals 41:42 [4] 7.4 km (5:38 / km)
ahr:152 max:178 shoes: Nike LunarEclipse

First time back at intervals and doing it properly for a long time, also feel like i'm getting a cold... So felt pretty crap and times weren't that great, but I was expecting it so it's fine and now the first session is out of the way, bring on next week!
2x2.2km: 10.10, 10.55 (always seem to get a bit of a mental block on the second one and go much slower...)
3x1km: 4.25, 4.23, 4.19
Feeling a bit better as the session went on, almost like my legs were remembering how to run faster.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Nike LunarEclipse
