Running 1:29 [1] 0.14 mi (10:37 / mi)
shoes: VJ Falcon spikes 2009

this wasn't really a warmup, more a test of how much my knee was going to be bothering me. I had already taken some aleve, and it actually felt ok, so I signed up for the long course.

Orienteering 52:21 intensity: (16 @1) + (1:23 @2) + (4:28 @3) + (42:40 @4) + (3:34 @5) *** 7.94 km (6:35 / km) +244m 5:43 / km

I ♥ night-o, this was fun. First time wearing the magicshine LED light while running, I thought I had a 1m extension, but maybe not. I had to attach the battery on to the back of the headband instead (on the over-the-head strap), but that actually worked pretty well, even if it wiggled slightly. The thing is bright, and I had it on high the whole time. had to be careful not to shine it directly on the map.

Navigated well, no mistakes really, even though splits show some loss. QOC has two new fast guys running blue this season, towards the end I was running with one of them, Brian, an AR guy. he had made some mistakes, but then came up from behind me. I actually thought it was Jon at first. once we were together he was running away from me, and he stayed ahead through the last two controls and finish.

I had eaten dinner too recently, so my stomach was a little upset during the run, though mostly more afterwards. Knee felt fine, hopefully it will still feel fine when aleve wears off.

Note

was up early to watch ski-o, but the video wasn't really working. too many snowflakes maybe. seems like it started working later, but by then the fussy monkeys had woken up.

Knee problem seems to be turning into an IT-band thing. Got worse over the weekend, maybe because of tightening up.
