L Foot, Other

2010-01-05 – 2010-02-03

Grade: 1

I pulled something towards the front of my left arch, just behind the ball and of my foot. I think it is further forward than a typical Plantar Faciitis problem. I belive I pulled it during a rigorous yoga session while pushing off in Warrior 2. It has been slow to heal but doesn't cause intense pain, I am just constantly aware of it.

2/1/2010 Still feeling this almost a month later. Not painful but I'm aware of it when I walk.

2/2/2010 I wore Bethany's ortho-boot last night. I am still skeptical about it helping but must admit that my arch feels better today than in a month. Still noticeable, but only slightly.

2/3/2010 Wore the Ortho-boot again last night. Today I feel zero discomfort in my left arch. As a side note, I must have been running in my sleep because I woke up with a blister on the outside of my foot from rubbing on the boot.

I pulled something towards the middle/front of my left arch, about an inch behind the ball and of my foot. I originally thought it was further forward than a typical Plantar Faciitis problem. I belive I pulled it during a rigorous yoga session while pushing off in Warrior 2, followed by some hard running. It was very slow to heal but didn't cause intense pain, I was just constantly aware of it. I never stopped training as my load wasn't that heavy to begin with, mostly P90x and one or two runs a week.

After 25 days of little change I purchased some Vibram FiveFinger shoes and started wearing them around the house and doing light cardio workouts with them. Still no change in my arch.

After 27 days I worked out one night and then wore my wife's Ortho-boot thingy to sleep to keep my foot in a flexed position all night. I was and am still somewhat skeptical but the day after that first night, I had significantly less discomfort in my arch. I wore the boot again for a second night and can't tell any difference between my left and right foot now. I'm calling this case tentatively closed.

My foot may have been on the cusp of being healthy but it sure seems as though the boot helped get me over that last hump.
