British Middle Distance Championships: Course 1

1. Happy, safe route for first one
2. Easy along the forest
3. +00:50Again took a 'safer' Route Choice but didn't pay attention at the end of the leg and over ran the control. Panicked then and didnt relocate properly
4. got back in the zone quickly
5. +00:10stopped paying attention for a second and then lost track of where I was, saw a control to my right ran towards it, then saw mine when i had a glance behind me
6. +00:07Read that the control would be on a spur but it was in a re-entrant. so I was looking in the wrong place
7. Concentrated hard and really payed attention to what I was doing
8. When I was near the control thought I had further to go, looked down at the map and also saw the control!
9. +00:05Hesitated when I reached the road
10. fine, ran on the compass and could see the form line features
11. saw the hill to the left of the control and it was easy
12. compass out to the road, in from the X.
13. +00:50Had no confidence in my direction leaving 12 and the ground was horrible. Was too stubborn to not go straight when I was going nowhere and ended up taking a terrible route through the marsh. got really lucky at then control then
14. +00:10Bad direction out of 13, then found it hard to get the legs moving again
15. got back on top of my game a little and there was some guy in front of me which helped
16. though about going right of the lake for the path but decided against it, back running strongly again
17. got delayed at the style because some old guy was holding up the show but good speed
18. saw about 20 people punching it as i left 17, easy control then running hard
19. went for the road route choice for the running. Was pushing hard and felt alright
20. hesitated a small bit when i saw the clearing but lost no real time
21. +00:15Reached the end of my aerobic capacity and fell off the pace dramatically. Largely got demoralised because someone passed me which is poor form. Also didnt pay attention to my map and stayed by the fence for too long
22. +00:20mind still not thinking great and left towards the finish, corrected badly too.
23. running hard, pretty tired
24. really feeling rough
