Read map too late Bad map reading Confused parallel features Disturbed by others +00:15 | Took off fast into the valley and started to read in detail a little too late. Saw Viktoria Brautigam going up a spur (too early), and since I wasn't sure where exactly I was I went up that same spur. Realized this partway up and started to correct but basically lost about 15 sec on hesitation and bad route. | |||||

Bad route choice Did not like map +00:05 | The reentrant shown on the map actually continues nearly all the way to the paved road - and so to avoid climb I went onto the paved road "around" the reentrant. Viktoria went straight and took the same amount of time despite my faster pace - so another 5 sec gone here. | |||||

Then, there was a (smaller) rootstock along the line about 20m before the control and I went to this and checked it first, before looking up and seeing a larger rootstock - the one with the control. Total time lost is about 15 sec | |||||

Bad route choice +00:20 | Again a bad route choice - I went straight rather than going to the right around the valleys. The valleys in Pig terrain are ALWAYS effectively deeper than shown, because of the steep ravine/ditch at the bottom which prevents maintenance of speed going across them and adds 1-3 meters of depth. Should have gone to the right. | |||||
