| 1. | For some reason, I thought the boundary of the field was E-W, so I went into the woods right away - got to the pavilion before I figured it out. Didn't lose time on my competition, since evidently they got a little confused on the way. | ||||||
| 2. | We all ran down trails all the way, Tim Good in the lead. | ||||||
| 3. | I led out but stopped 10 m. to left of control without seeing it until T.G. punched it. | ||||||
| 4. | Pretty much straight. Apart from a brief glimpse of Glen Tryson, I don't think I saw anyone else from my group until the end. | ||||||
| 5. | I got off a little to the left of the line. | ||||||

| 7. | +00:15 | Followed along right side of ridge, climbed up too soon. Then I got to 10 m. right of the control, but thought the rock was too big so I looked right. All the people leaving the rock should have been a clue! | |||||
| 8. | Straight, picking up the tail of a stream of runners including C. de W. who evidently started out too far to the west. | ||||||
| 9. | I was gasping for breath around this time, and just grabbed onto C. de W.'s tail. | ||||||
| F. | Don't know why I pushed as hard as I did, because there was nobody else in my group anywhere around. 3rd place - drat! |
