3. | Way too far to the left, up the broad reentrant, then overshot a bit and came into control from the south.
4. | Didn't maintain contact very well, but I recognized things when I got close, and lost no time. Lucky.

6. | Tough getting through the rocks on the edges of the road!
7. | Very unsure of myself, and drifted a bit to the left. People nearby were a potential distraction, but I kept my concentration and went to the right spot.
8. | I was supposed to have a Red-1 map, but I think I mistakenly said Red-2 to the start people, and that's what they gave me. But I didn't realize that until I was starting the second wing of the butterfly, and Jim Baker appeared behind me. I knew he had started two positions after me, so he should have had the same map. When he headed to the same control that I was going to, at first I thought he was making a mistake, but then I realized that he must have caught up four minutes on me. Damn!
9. | Jim still with me, moving strong. Damn!
10. | Pulling away from Jim somewhat, but I knew it wouldn't be enough. But then I looked at the cluesheet, and the truth dawned on me -- I had the wrong map! Jim was one wing behind me! There was hope!

12. | So this was actually my first butterfly wing, since I had the Red-2 map.

15. | Second time into the repeated control, and I screwed it up. Too far to the right, and I saw the cliff just south of control #60 and mistook it for the one southeast of #51. Figured I'd just hop over the hill and be at the control, but I did that and found myself in a hole, looking at a bigger cliff. Oh. Climb out of the hole and try again.
