Race Evaluation

WCOC Derby Meet: Sprint

cmorse

1. visible from start, straight across field from bridge
2. right of line, through green, then straight in white woods
3. +00:20up reentrant, started out going straight, but realized trail was so close I veered R and picked it up to first wiggle over form line knoll, but misread rock and missed high hitting cliff N of circle, turned around to see flag behind
4. straight down picking best line in rock
5. started out straight but quickly hopped to trail, cut in when i saw boulder on spur, confirmed by seeing bridge beyond
6. +00:10straight past reentrant and just N of boulder pair on spur, expected to see boulder in front of me, spotted it off to L - rock mapping a little off imho
7. right to avoid most of marsh and catch indistinct trail at thin green, trail to flag
8. quickly chose R trail option, ran it hard knowing flag would be evident when I emerged from green
9. thought about backtracking up trail, but opted to run towards road scanning woods for a passable gap in green - found one putting me right in white woods - run fast
10. straight, saw large boulder not on map, ignored it as I saw fence corner, up past corner and in
11. ran in the white, went right over cliff catching toe and descending head first - miraculously landed on my feet - though with a serious adrenaline surge. hit field and noticed two unmapped fight blobs, estimated distance andran for ne side of further one hoping that was where flag would be - spike!
12. +00:10started running hard (in view of finish you know), then saw fence on map, slowed to read map and confirm opening on S - resume speed, cut through green a little to L and had to skirt right a bit to hit gate
13. could see vegetation, but no flag, around to right
14. +00:10down through garden to N and down driveway - between buildings probably faster
F. +00:05hesitated momentarily to ensure gate open @ corner to finish - had i observed earlier finishers, i would have known this was open

Total Time Lost - 00:00:55
